The 22nd Annual Conference of China Foundry Association kicked off in Shanghai on May 7, 2026. Held in the 40th anniversary year of the Association, the conference adopted the theme of “Forging Dreams for the 15th Five-Year Plan, Embarking on a New Journey Toward a Strong Nation”. It gathered experts, scholars and enterprise representatives to discuss industrial trends, policies and technologies, and map out development plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Chairman Zhang Mingwei was invited to attend the event.

The conference released the Development Plan for China’s Foundry Industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period, specifying goals, tasks and implementation pathways for the next five years. Participants analyzed opportunities and challenges facing the industry, and held thematic exchanges on hot topics including green low-carbon development, smart factories and high-end castings.

During the conference, Zhang Mingwei exchanged insights with industry leaders and specialists. He shared experience and explored development pathways covering intelligent manufacturing of precision hydraulic castings, process upgrading, green transformation and digitalization.

Zhang Mingwei remarked that the foundry industry is advancing toward high-end, intelligent and green development. The 15th Five-Year Plan will drive the phasing-out of backward production capacity, strengthen innovation and optimize industrial structure. Enterprises should keep abreast of relevant policies and trends, stay focused on core businesses, continuously advance upgrades in processes, equipment and management, then boost product competitiveness.
